Recently, Microsoft recalled it’s October 2018 Update due to early adopters reporting that the update results in loss of data. This is serious enough that Microsoft has delayed the public release of the update. In a statement, Microsoft says:
“We have paused the rollout of the Windows 10 October 2018 Update (Version 1809) for all users as we investigate isolated reports of users missing some files after updating.”
While Microsoft has assured it’s users that it’s looking into this, it’s a reminder that not all updates interact positively with our systems. We recommend that all RollBack Rx Home and RollBack Rx Pro users take a snapshot of their system prior to running any update, and in particular the 1809 update, to ensure that they have a guaranteed means to recover any lost data.
If you aren’t a RollBack Rx user, now is a great time to install our free system restore utility, RollBack Rx Home Edition. If you’re looking for more advanced features, we also offer RollBack Rx Pro Edition at an affordable price. Whichever tool you use, you can be rest assured that in the event that you lose data, you have a quick and effective means to restore your system and data.
If you have any questions about RollBack Rx or any of our instant restore products, you can contact us anytime through our social media.
