After a long week the Horizon DataSys team has finally returned home from EDUCAUSE, the last trade show of the year we will be attending (phew).
While this year saw more than 4,000 people including CIO’s, principals, teachers, IT staff, and more walk through the halls of the Indiana Convention Center, it was the quality of the attendees that surprised us most. For this, dear EDUCAUSE attendees, we must apologize for our preconceived notions of who we thought would come around our booth. We didn’t realize how awesome so many of you would be.
And just as with all our shows, we once again challenged all who dared to try and take down our PC with our instant restore software RollBack Rx installed. Unlike Microsoft Ignite, this was not accomplished here. That brings our count to one Xbox One giveaway via tradeshows this year out of the thousands of attempts.
Overall, not bad!
The biggest takeaway the team got from EDUCAUSE is that there are always improvements to be made in the educational technology market, and we’re no exception.
That’s why this year we focused on enhancing our Remote Management Console (RMC), allowing IT admins greater control over all their machines with Drive Vaccine and/or RollBack Rx installed. Admins can now simply categorize, send files, schedule and issue updates, trigger command line switches, set policies, and more using the RMC. Oh, and this comes for free with any purchase of RollBack Rx Professional or our restore on reboot software Drive Vaccine.
Keeping with the times, we also saw our Microsoft steadystate alternative Reboot Restore Rx, RollBack Rx and Drive Vaccine become Windows 10 compatible. We’ve heard loud and clear that for schools in particular, a Mac-friendly version would be nice. That’s something we’re looking into, and when more news is available on that we will be announcing it loud and clear.
